Seth Meyers tore into President Donald Trump on Thursday night time, mocking what he described as a cringeworthy show of sycophancy from Trump’s Cupboard amid ongoing financial uncertainty brought on by his tariffs coverage.
Trump, who paused sweeping tariffs earlier this week after spooking markets, “appeared to wish a vanity increase,” the “Late Night time” host joked.
So, the president gathered his high officers for what Meyers known as “a ritualistic puckering of the lips and kissing of the buttocks.”
The over-the-top reward from Cupboard members, Meyers stated, wasn’t good.
“When your employees goes that excessive with reward, that’s how you recognize you fucked up,” he stated. “I imply, they’re clearly overcompensating. They sound like Hollywood brokers after a large flop — ‘You crushed it. You killed it. Don’t take heed to the critics. “The Emoji Film” was artwork.’”
Meyers instructed even Trump appeared visibly uncomfortable in the course of the assembly: “In some unspecified time in the future, I’ve to imagine even he’s going to take heed to all this slobbering and say, ‘Is that this gross? Does anybody else really feel like that is getting creepy and bizarre?’”
