Jimmy Fallon joked that Donald Trump could be right down to nominate Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) for a Cupboard job simply so he can hearth him.
“I learn that President-elect Trump is contemplating changing Pete Hegseth with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as his nominee for protection secretary,” the comedian stated on “The Tonight Present” Wednesday.
“When requested why he’d rent Ron DeSantis, Trump stated, ‘As a result of it’d be actually enjoyable to fireplace Ron DeSantis. That’s why. It’s all price it.’”
Trump is reportedly contemplating DeSantis for the function, amid intensifying controversy surrounding Hegseth, a former Fox Information host who has been accused of sexual misconduct, alcohol abuse and monetary mismanagement of two veterans teams he led.
Trump and DeSantis have been each foes and allies over time in an on-again-off-again relationship that grew significantly tense throughout the 2024 GOP primaries.
