Florida GOP Rep. Mike Waltz has alleged that the Secret Service was urged to extend the safety for Donald Trump, however it was denied by Division of Homeland Safety Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Trump was shot by gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks throughout a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Whereas Trump is now protected, Crooks was killed by Secret Service snipers.
In a submit on X, Waltz wrote, “I’ve very dependable sources telling me there have been repeated requests for stronger secret service safety for President Trump. Denied by Secretary Mayorkas.”
Waltz shared the submit as a caption to a different submit by Chad Pergram, the Senior Congressional Correspondent for Fox Information. Within the submit, Pergram wrote that Home Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer “needs USSS Director Cheadle to look for a listening to on Trump capturing “quickly.”” He added, “His committee has oversight of Secret Service”.
Pergram quoted Comer as saying, “My prayers are with President Trump and the victims of the assassination try at as we speak’s rally in Pennsylvania. I thank the courageous Secret Service members who put their lives in danger to guard President Trump and for the American patriots within the viewers who helped harmless victims. Political violence in all kinds is unamerican and unacceptable. There are numerous questions and People demand solutions. I’ve already contacted the Secret Service for a briefing and am additionally calling on Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to look for a listening to. The Oversight Committee will ship a proper invitation quickly.”
