Chris Kluwe, the previous NFL punter, was arrested on Tuesday whereas protesting a ‘MAGA’ signal at a metropolis council assembly in Huntington Seaside, California.
Why was Chris Kluwe protesting?
The 43-year-old, talking on the assembly south of Los Angeles, protested the council’s choice to place up a plaque on the native library. The plaque featured the acronym ‘MAGA,’ which Kluwe noticed as a “propaganda assertion” linked to President Donald Trump’s marketing campaign slogan, “Make America Nice Once more.”
Kluwe, an eight-year veteran of the Minnesota Vikings (2005-2012), addressed the seven-member metropolis council, expressing his views on what he thinks the MAGA motion represents. He then stepped ahead towards the council, resulting in his arrest.
“Sadly it’s clear that this council doesn’t hear, so as an alternative I’m gonna take my time to say what MAGA has stood for these previous three weeks,” Kluwe stated.
“MAGA stands for attempting to erase trans folks from existence. MAGA stands for resegregation and racism. MAGA stands for censorship and e-book bans,” he added.
The Philadelphia native went on to say, “MAGA is profoundly corrupt, unmistakably anti-democracy and most significantly, MAGA is explicitly a Nazi motion. You will have changed a swastika with a crimson hat, however that’s what it’s.

Kluwe was stopped by Huntington Seaside police, who arrested him and escorted him out of the chambers. He was cited and launched after spending 4 hours in custody on Tuesday.
