“Late Evening” host Seth Meyers on Monday accused Democrats of failing to sufficiently fight the shock-and-awe ways being deployed by President Donald Trump’s weeks-old second administration.
Meyers listed simply a number of the controversial strikes made by the Trump administration up to now — from firing inspectors common to forcing out high FBI officers.
Then the comic mentioned: “I assumed you have been simply going to decrease the value of eggs! What’s all this different shit? It’s like hiring a handyman to repair your rest room and if you come again, he’s pulling out the fixtures, rerouting the pipes and changing your bathe with a Jacuzzi that additionally doesn’t work.”
Some Democrats are urging folks “to not freak out at all the things Trump does,” famous Meyers. Home Minority Chief Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) final week said how his party will sort out Trump: “We’re not going to swing at each pitch. We’re going to swing on the ones that matter for the American folks.”
Meyers commented on that line: “Get your bat off your fucking shoulder. Democrats ought to be teeing off on this man,” together with his remarks drawing applause from his studio viewers.
