Democratic Rep. Don Davis defeated Republican challenger Laurie Buckhout in a key North Carolina Home district, The Related Press projected.
Republicans had considered Davis’ japanese North Carolina seat as a high goal this cycle after redistricting turned it extra conservative. The district, which is basically rural with a major Black inhabitants, went from one which President Joe Biden received by about seven share factors in 2020 to 1 Biden received by 1.7 factors in 2020.
Buckhout had tried to hyperlink Davis to the Biden administration’s border insurance policies, closely specializing in immigration all through the marketing campaign. Davis defended his personal voting document in Congress and tried to tie Buckhout to Republicans’ scandal-plagued gubernatorial nominee, Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson.
