Local weather change appears to impress intolerant reactions from each Proper and Left. The previous falls prey to know-nothingism in its efforts to disclaim the existence of an issue that might justify a governmental response. The latter’s tendency to catastrophize local weather change fosters assist for intolerant responses. Neither is a productive response to a major problem.
This concern was the main target of a panel on which I participated on the ISMA‘s inaugural Liberalism for the 21st Century conference this previous July.
